Italians are increasingly sending or collecting packages using lockers while running other errands, saving the most precious resource: time.

We continue to grow in Italy thanks to significant partnerships, such as the one with Tamoil, part of the Dutch Oilinvest Group an oil company operating in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, and the Netherlands. Tamoil, which has a network of X fuel stations across Italy, currently hosts 100 lockers at its locations to offer an additional service to residents in nearby areas.

More and more, Italians appreciate the opportunity to take advantage of a stop on their way home or to work, while refueling or maintaining their vehicles, to send or receive products purchased from major Italian e-commerce platforms using InPost. The ability to integrate package management into daily routines saves time and provides greater freedom to customers. It only takes a few simple operations and a few minutes to use the convenience of the lockers installed at Tamoil service stations.

“Our network continues to grow in Italy, particularly thanks to new agreements with major partners like Tamoil, comments Nicola D’Elia, Managing Director Southern Europe of InPost. – “At service stations, our users can pick up and send their packages while running other errands. Our data shows a peak in usage between 4 PM and 8 PM, Monday to Friday. The goal is to be increasingly close to Italians and offer greater convenience, avoiding long waits at home for the courier or in line to send or collect a package. The out-of-home delivery method is already very popular in Northern Italy. In fact, 48% of the most used lockers at Tamoil stations are located in that part of Italy, and like in the South, they are used for both sending and receiving packages. In the central regions and islands, they are mostly used for shipping. Our goal is to spread the culture of out-of-home delivery throughout the entire population.”

“We are delighted to include InPost as one of the services on our network, bringing further convenience to our customers" adds Andrea Mansoldo, Head of Retail Management at Tamoil Italia. “With 100 points of sale for the time being and more to come, customers will be able to combine the time they use to refuel to also pick up their parcels and minimize their wait time due to elongated courier times.”

The extensive network that InPost has achieved in our country with around 7,500 points in all regions makes it increasingly easy for citizens to use out-of-home delivery services. By aggregating data from 10 of the largest cities, InPost covers 65% of the population, meaning over 5.5 million Italians living in Rome, Milan, Naples, Turin, Palermo, Genoa, Bologna, Florence, Bari, and Catania live within 5 minutes of an InPost point.
