Tour de France

DISCOVERING THE CITIES OF THE TOUR
A journey through the Italian cities featured in the race. Put on your helmet, hop on the saddle, and join us!

Florence and Rimini. The cradle of the Renaissance, one; the city of nightlife, the other.
Places where some of the greatest names of the past were born or lived, such as Cimabue, Giotto, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Dante Alighieri in the former; symbol of Romagna, of summer, of dance halls, and the hometown of Federico Fellini in the latter, which still preserves the sparkling spirit of the sweet life.
Walking through the streets of these cities, you can easily immerse yourself in those past eras and relive their sensations.
But what connects these cities? You're probably wondering...
Florence and Rimini, on June 29th, will respectively be the starting and finishing points of the first stage of the Tour de France, which this year starts from our Italy and of which InPost is one of the official partners.
Those who visit the cities during the tour days, in addition to experiencing the magic of the event firsthand, can take advantage of visiting one of the most famous art cities in the world or choose to relax along the 15km of Rimini beaches.
And if your packages follow you even on vacation, don't worry! Thanks to the many InPost lockers and pickup points, you can receive your shipments even far from home.
Did you know that in Florence, InPost is present with a network of 59 pickup points and19 lockers and inRimini with 21 InPost Points and 11 lockers ?
You can choose to pick up or send while taking a walk on the Ponte Vecchio, while heading to the Uffizi, or after crossing the Ponte Tiberio in Rimini and starting to descend towards the sea.
Let's get to know InPost Points better!
We had a chat with people who live the Pickup Points every day because they work there or own them ...
Let's find out what they told us!

Barbara from the InPost Point “Agenzia Il Punto”
The first one is theIl Punto Agency, located in Piazza Gualfredotto da Milano, in the center of beautiful Florence. Barbara welcomes us at the entrance, to whom we asked a few questions.
Barbara, what do you prefer about the location of your InPost pickup point?
Although my pickup point is right here in the city of Florence, what I really prefer is the feeling of being more in a small town. There's a lot of solidarity, and we're all more or less on familiar terms.
If you had to describe the citizens of Florence who bring packages to your pickup point in just one word, what would it be?
I would definitely describe them as friendly.
What do people who bring packages to your InPost Point tell you that's particular?
Really anything and everything! There's no particular topic, they tell me all sorts of things and more! Certainly, the fact that I've been in business for many years and therefore have become familiar with many of the regular customers at my pickup point influences this.
What kind of clientele do you have? Are they mostly regular customers – with whom you may have even established a relationship of trust – or do you often see new faces?
They are mostly, as mentioned, customers who frequent my business often, but I also see new faces from neighboring areas...
This year, the Tour de France will also pass through Florence. What do you expect from this event?
I'm not exactly sure what to expect, but it's certainly a great opportunity, and I'm sure we'll see a lot of people passing through.

Muhammad from the InPost Point “Mobile Spot”
The second pickup point we visited is the InPost Point Mobile Spot, located on Via de’ Barbadori, just steps away from one of Italy's most famous bridges, and one of Florence's symbols: the Ponte Vecchio. Muhammad welcomes us.
Muhammad, what do you like about the location of your InPost pickup point?
Being right near the Ponte Vecchio, I like the area because there's a lot of movement and a great flow of people.
If you had to describe the citizens of Florence who bring packages to your pickup point in just one word, what would it be?
The customers are really very kind.
What kind of clientele do you have? Are they mostly regular customers – with whom you may have even established a relationship of trust – or do you often see new faces?
I have a mixed clientele, both regular customers and completely new faces.
This year, the Tour de France will also pass through Florence. What do you expect from this event?
I definitely expect to see a lot more people than usual!

Fabio from the InPost Point Tabaccheria Gambalunga
We then moved 100km further east and met Fabio at the InPost Point Tabaccheria Gambalunga, located at Via Alessandro Gambalunga 26B, in the heart of Rimini.
Fabio, what do you like about the location of your InPost pickup point?
The fact that it's in a strategic location. Being in the pedestrian area of Rimini's historic center makes it very convenient for residents as well as for those who work in the surrounding offices and shops.
What do you think are the greatest advantages of a pickup point in a city like Rimini?
Rimini, being a medium-large city, has numerous InPost pickup points, allowing us to accommodate various customer needs and preferences.
If you had to describe the citizens of Rimini who bring packages to your pickup point in just one word, what would it be?
Satisfied, especially due to the speed of the service.
What do people who bring packages to your InPost Point tell you that's particular?
They're usually in a hurry and don't linger for long conversations. However, once, a lady told me that thanks to the sales made with InPost, she managed to pay for her beach umbrella for the entire season... Not bad!
What kind of clientele do you have? Are they mostly regular customers – with whom you may have even established a relationship of trust – or do you often see new faces?
The clientele is quite varied, but mostly composed of young, now regular customers, with whom a relationship of trust has been established.
This year, the Tour de France will also pass through Rimini. What do you expect from this event?
A lot of influx, a lot of tourism, and, why not, a few more InPost packages!

Giuseppe from the InPost Point “Tabaccheria Il Castello”
Finally, still in Rimini, we met Giuseppe, from Tabaccheria Il Castello, located in Piazza Malatesta.
Giuseppe: what do you like about the location where your InPost pickup point is located?
What I like about my pickup point is the fact that it's really convenient to reach both by car and on foot.
Can you tell us a funny anecdote that happened during the delivery or pickup of an InPost package?
One day, while the store was closed, I see a customer knocking on the window because he wanted to pick up a package. After pointing out to him that the store was not open at that moment, I see him starting to "despair". At this point, after approaching him, he confesses to me that if he didn't pick up the package, his wife wouldn't let him have dinner! At that moment, I understood that I couldn't make him wait until the next day. I can say that with InPost, I ensured him a dinner!
If you had to describe the citizens of Rimini who bring packages to your pickup point in one word, what would it be?
I would describe them as Happy!
What do people tell you at your InPost Point that's particular?
The thing they tell me most often is that they prefer InPost service because, unlike other shipping methods, they find it much more practical and simple.
What kind of clientele do you have? Are they mostly regular customers - with whom you may have even built a relationship of trust - or do you often see new faces?
I mostly have regular customers, but every week I come across completely new customers.
This year the Tour de France will also pass through Rimini. What do you expect from this event?
First of all, I'm very happy because it's always nice to see cycling, but I'm equally pleased because it will surely be a beautiful showcase for our city!

The Tour de France, which will inaugurate the 2024 edition starting from Florence and passing through Rimini will open its second stage in Cesenatico, an important tourist destination famous for its Leonardesque Canal Harbour, but also for its shopping streets and beach, accessible from several streets and squares.
Following this, the Tour de France will arrive in none other than Bologna, a city that is home to the oldest university in the world and known to all for its porticos and towers, as well as an enviable historical centre.
These two cities, moreover, as mentioned at the beginning, will be the second stage of the Tour de France on 30 June.
f you are planning a visit to the port of Cesenatico or the Asinelli Tower in Bologna, don't give up the convenience of receiving or sending a parcel even on holiday! InPost, in fact, is present in Cesenatico with a network of 4 pick-up points and in Bologna with no less than 56 InPost Points and 25 lockers. We are always #close
If you want to know more about the city of Bologna in particular, read on below. We had a chat with some of our partners from the city's pick-up points... Find out what they told us!

Marco from InPost Point Tabaccheria
This InPost Point is located in a very central area of Bologna, more precisely, in Via Guglielmo Oberdan. Welcoming us is Marco.
Marco, tell us about a particular anecdote that happened during the delivery or collection of an InPost parcel?
I remember that during the Christmas period a lady had so many parcels to collect that it took us more than half an hour to match all the codes!
What is your favourite thing about the location of your InPost collection point?
The centrality of the shop location, without a doubt.
What do you think are the biggest advantages of a pick-up point in a city like Bologna?
Being able to come and collect your online purchases in peace.
If you had to define with one word the citizens of Bologna who bring parcels to your collection point, what would it be?
Definitely Unique!
What kind of customers do you have?
Are they mostly regular customers - with whom you may even have established a relationship of confidence - or do you often see new faces?
This year the Tour de France will also pass through Bologna. What do you expect from this event?
Lots of tourism and, consequently, an opportunity to make our fantastic Bologna known!

Ciro from InPost Point Towerservice
Also for this second interview, we find ourselves in the heart of the city centre, more precisely in Via Fossalta, where Ciro welcomes us.
Ciro, what do you like best about the location of your pick-up point?
We are located in the very heart of Bologna's historical centre, a stone's throw from the Two Towers and Piazza Maggiore, in a characteristic narrow street surrounded by shops and offices of people who live in the city on a daily basis, but also by many tourist attractions that always bring new faces to knock on the door of our business.
What do you think are the greatest advantages of a pick-up point in a city like Bologna?
Bologna, retaining its most medieval and human charm, makes it strongly connected to people who seek in a business like this a point of contact even for the simple delivery of a parcel.
If you had to define with one word the citizens of Bologna who bring parcels to your pick-up point, what would it be?
Authentic.
What do the people who bring parcels to your InPost Point tell you that is special?
We immediately established a very direct and confidential relationship with our customers, which is why they often tell us about their day, their families and the products they have sold online. Some have become so attached that they even drop by just to say hello.
What kind of clientele do you have? Are they mostly regular customers or do you often see new faces?
Our central location has allowed us to deal with both regular and new customers. Part of the people we see on a daily basis because they live or work in neighbouring areas. The other part, on the other hand, is mostly people passing through, mainly tourists who use local services like ours during their stay.
This year the Tour de France will also pass through Bologna, what do you expect from this event?
Obviously we expect a greater flow of people and more visibility. It will certainly be a good showcase for us!

After having set off from Florence, landed in Rimini and continued its ‘race’ towards Cesenatico and Bologna, the Tour finally lands first in Piacenza and then in Turin.
Piacenza itself will welcome the Tour de France on the morning of 1 July, with its streets full of charm, where enchanting villages will contribute to making the experience even more magical.
If this were not enough, you should also know that Piacenza is also characterised by the presence of castles that take us directly back to a distant past but which we can still be fascinated by when we visit it...
And in the afternoon it will be the turn of none other than Turin to see its streets traversed by the participants in the famous competition.
With its elegant squares, baroque palaces and unmissable museums, it is definitely ready to win you over and... so are we!
In fact, InPost is present in Piacenza with a network of 8 lockers and 13 pick-up points and in Turin with 148 lockers and 85 InPost Points.
Always ready for you to experience a revolutionary and innovative service in the world of shipping!

Let's find out what they told us!

Giuseppe from InPost Point Coffee Store
This InPost Point is located just outside the historical centre of Piacenza, in Via Emilia Pavese. Greeting us is Giuseppe.
Hi Giuseppe, what do you prefer about the location of your InPost Point?
My favourite thing is that there is really a lot of movement and a dense flow of people.

The possibility of being able to collect your parcel in comfort.
If you had to define with one word the citizens of Piacenza who bring parcels to your collection point, what would it be?
I would definitely call them ‘Happy’.
What do the people who bring parcels to your InPost Point tell you in particular?
Mainly, they tell me how they can sell almost anything online.
What kind of customers do you have? Are they mostly regular customers - with whom you may even have established a relationship of confidence - or do you often see new faces?
A mix! We have our regular customers but we also often see new faces.
This year the Tour de France will also pass through Piacenza. What do you expect from this event?
I expect that Piacenza will have more visibility thanks to this event.

Andrea from InPost Point Tabaccheria Trisorio
For this second interview along the banks of the Po in Turin, we visit Andrea at his shop in C.so Casale.
Hi Andrea, what do you like best about the location of your InPost pick-up point?
Definitely the location, we are in an area very close to the centre, really quiet and with greenery all around. We are not totally in a central location but still in a particularly nice part of Turin.
Can you tell us a funny anecdote that happened during the delivery or collection of an InPost parcel?
A lady who is a regular in the shop, to thank me for the service and all the parcels I deliver to her, gave me for Christmas... a pineapple! A really nice gesture that made us smile.
If you had to define with one word the citizens of Turin who bring parcels to your collection point, what would it be?
I think the appropriate word would be ‘frenetic’.
What kind of clientele do you have? Are they mostly regular customers - with whom you may even have established a relationship of confidence - or do you often see new faces?
I'd say it's 50-50. Between local customers that we know by now and the other half made up of more casuals.
This year the Tour de France will also pass through Turin. What do you expect from this event?
We immediately noticed an improvement in the infrastructure and I expect a lot of tourism and more visibility for the city in general.

After the stages of Florence - Rimini, Cesenatico - Bologna and Piacenza - Turin
the world's most famous cycle race leaves Italy with the last stage in Pinerolo to continue its race in France.
In fact, 2 July is the date on which the Tour de France will arrive in Pinerolo, a city that Edmondo De Amicis described in his Alle Porte d'Italia (At the Gates of Italy) as follows: Seen from above, set as it is at the mouth of two beautiful valleys, at the foot of the Cottian Alps, in front of a vast plain, dotted with hundreds of villages, which look like white islands in a vast green and motionless sea, it is the most beautiful city in Piedmont.
And this municipality of around 35,000 inhabitants will also have the task of making the Tour de France 2024 truly magical.
To be always #close even in small towns, InPost has also established its presence in Pinerolo, with a network of 2 InPost Points and 3 lockers.
LET'S GET TO KNOW INPOST POINTS BETTER!
We had a chat with people who live the Pickup Points every day because they work there or own them...
Let's find out what they told us!

Alessio from InPost Point Ecostore
This InPost Point is located in the city centre, a stone's throw from the Historical Museum, more precisely in Corso Torino.
Let's start with a simple question to Alessio, what do you prefer about the location of your InPost Point?
Our biggest advantage is that it is located on the main street of Pinerolo and is therefore easily accessible both on foot and by car, as it is also easy to park and get there from anywhere in the city.
Can you tell us a funny anecdote that happened during the delivery or collection of an InPost parcel?
During a parcel delivery by a courier, I start sorting and I hear a sound and vibration inside one of the parcels and, if at first I hardly notice it, I start to perceive it more and more and I start ‘listening’ to the various parcels until I find the one that actually vibrates and sounds. Eventually, out of curiosity, when I hand it over to the owner, I point out to her that her parcel was vibrating and beeping and she amusedly tells me that it was a timer that she used to check the cooking of pasta.
What do you think are the biggest advantages of a collection point in a city like Pinerolo?
In Pinerolo we still have some difficulties with technology, and in addition we like to maintain human contact; the advantage is therefore that people look for a physical pick-up point to interface with another person, also to get clarification and information about their shipments.
If you had to define with one word the citizens of Pinerolo who bring parcels to your collection point, what would it be?
I would call them singular (laughs, ed.).
What do the people who bring parcels to your InPost Point tell you that is special?
People often point out that they are looking for a physical person to consult in case of doubts and problems. In particular, they tell me about their shopping and the offers they find around!
What kind of clientele do you have? Are they mostly regular customers - with whom you may even have established a relationship of confidence - or do you often see new faces?
The clientele is mostly regulars, we had to get to know them in the beginning. Over time you also build up a relationship of familiarity and so the customers are more or less always the same.
This year the Tour de France will also pass through Pinerolo. What do you expect from this event?
Surely the TDF will bring a lot of people to Pinerolo, as it does every time there are events of this magnitude and, who knows, even new InPost customers in the shop! There will be a lot of life in Pinerolo and maybe even some tourism.
